Jacquemus Opens Its First Miami Boutique in the Miami Design District

Jacquemus has officially opened its first Miami boutique in the Miami Design District, bringing the French fashion house to 157 NE 40th Street. The new two-story store brings the brand’s clothing and accessories together with art, furniture and a gorgeous sculptural stone staircase.

Simon Porte Jacquemus founded the popular fashion house in Paris in 2009, dedicating it to the memory of his late mother. The brand is inspired by the French way of life, the designer’s upbringing in Provence and his interest in things like photography, cinema and the arts.

Jacquemus translated that sunny, playful point of view into the tiny Le Chiquito bag, which quickly became an Instagram phenomenon. The house has also hosted runway shows in a lavender field in Provence and along the canal at Versailles to honor its roots.

Inside the Miami Boutique

Simon Porte Jacquemus designed the nearly 3,000-square-foot Miami Design District boutique in collaboration with OMA. Sunlight streams through new façade openings, while handmade stucco walls and forged-iron details add texture to the space. Cotto Etrusco crafted custom warm-yellow terracotta floor tiles for the store. At the center, a striking Saint-Marc Jaune stone staircase curves between the two floors, completed with a forged-metal balustrade by Battaglia.

The store includes a dedicated shoe salon and a private VIP area. A separate window display will also change with future installations, giving regulars a reason to peek in again.

Art and Design Throughout

Simon Porte Jacquemus personally selected the art and design for the boutique. Highlights include Germaine Richier’s 1954 bronze Le Coureur, which shows a runner in motion, and Aristide Maillol’s Femme Couchée. The art selection also includes a landscape still life by André Bauchant.

Simon Porte Jacquemus called Miami “warm, modern and creative” and said he wanted the boutique to feel “very Miami and very Jacquemus.”

Furniture highlights include Frank Lloyd Wright’s mahogany Taliesin coffee table and bookshelf, Jean Royère’s curved wall lights and Mathieu Matégot’s perforated-metal pieces. Two French oak planters based on André Le Nôtre’s design for Versailles carry a Jacquemus badge.

Elsewhere, the collection includes works by Joan Miró, Jean Cocteau and Martin Parr, along with pieces by Wolfgang Tillmans and Pablo Picasso. Custom furniture by Jacquemus completes the space.
