The photographic work Natur-e by Alejandro Chaskielberg was produced during the Covid-19 pandemic, when he was traveling through the Argentinean Patagonia with his daughter, and decided to spend quarantine isolated in a small house in the forest. Most of Alejandro Chaskielberg’s past projects portray other people and communities in their own territories. In this case, the focus was inward: the artist portrays his daily life with his daughter, and through this series, shares the world he discovered through the lens. Chaskielberg built a utopia, his Natur-e, a natural world pierced by the digital world, an imaginary place waiting to be inhabited, and a refuge from the disrupted world that, due to confinement, only existed as seen through a screen.
