NOA BATLLE 2026 CCI + WOPHA FELLOW
Noa Batlle presents a one-day intervention in Paradise Plaza. Photographed throughout Miami, Pendientes, II : Photography-Based Study of Kinetic Normativity, Miami, 2026 enters spaces associated with tourism, cultural institutions, luxury architecture, and urban spectacle, as well as neighborhoods shaped by Caribbean diasporic life, including Little Haiti, Little Havana, and Little Santo Domingo.
Accessibility—and its absence—often operates within the structures of everyday life while remaining largely invisible to those who are not required to confront it. Through these encounters, the project seeks to make visible the ways in which the built environment shapes who can move through, participate in, and belong within public space.
For this presentation, Pendientes, II will be displayed in Paradise Plaza for a single-day exhibition.
Noa Batlle’s 2026 CCI + WOPHA Fellowship is presented by PAMM’s Caribbean Cultural Institute (CCI) in collaboration with Women Photographers International Archive (WOPHA) and the support of El Espacio 23. The Green Family Foundation Caribbean Cultural Institute (CCI) is a curatorial and research platform at Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) dedicated to promoting and supporting the artistic and cultural production of the Caribbean and its diasporas through exhibitions, research, fellowships, public programs, and collection building.
Noa Batlle (b. 1983, Dominican Republic; lives in Dominican Republic) is the recipient of the 2026 CCI + WOPHA Fellowship. Batlle approaches accessibility not as accommodation, but as a lens through which dominant sensory and social orders can be questioned and expanded.
