Tucked under the archway between Paseo Ponti and Jade Alley, Mexico-based KABE has marked the start of a new chapter with its inaugural U.S. location here in Miami Design District.
The store, which is owned by Krischa Betarse, carries uniquely sourced womenswear and accessories from over 60 designers. It is the second location for KABE, following the flagship store in Los Cabos which opened in 2020.
Betarse shares her vision behind the store and how it caters to Miami Design District visitors, stating that, "At KABE, fashion is more than just clothing; it’s an exploration of art and storytelling that challenges and inspires. Our collections are curated to celebrate unique artistry, blending global sophistication with eclectic spirit.” Items throughout the store range from emerging designer dresses and kimonos to hidden gems of unique craftsmanship, and everything in between.
Drenched in terracotta paint, KABE is a hidden gem of sorts in itself, tucked behind Celine off the pedestrian-only Paseo Ponti and diagonal from newly opened Nami Nori, who also provided bites for KABE’s opening event.
For the interior design, Betarse looked to Miami-based interior designer Tatiana Seikaly of Studio Seikaly, who curated an elevated bohemian space accented with bold colors, Palet tiles, chrome accents, and designs from Azotea to create an environment that welcomes clientele and complements the shoppable wares selected by Betarse. Seikaly shares that, “Designing KABE was about creating a bold, expressive space that mirrors its eclectic spirit. The store blends craftsmanship, individuality, and culture, setting the stage for fashion as self-expression.”
Betarse views KABE as an experiential shopping outpost that offers each visitor something special and unique. She shares that, “each visit to our Miami store offers a cultural experience where luxury is redefined on personal terms.”
