Summer's sweetest treasure has arrived in Miami's Design District. Mango season brings an explosion of tropical flavors to the neighborhood's dining scene, with restaurants embracing the beloved fruit in creative ways that celebrate South Florida's unique growing season.

JAMES BEARD BRILLIANCE

Michael's Genuine, the Miami Design District pioneer from James Beard Award-winning Chef Michael Schwartz, leads the mango movement with his seasonal approach to the king of fruits. Schwartz sources mangos directly from neighbors and employees rather than produce companies, creating an authentic connection to the local harvest. The Wood-Roasted Prawns arrive brushed with a homemade mango habanero glaze and are paired with green mango salad, peanuts, and nước chấm sauce for $13, $36, or $61. The Red Snapper Crudo features local mango, basil, coconut milk, chili oil, and crispy rice for $27. Their Cheese & Corn Samosa comes with spicy mango chutney as part of the new 3-course prix-fixe menu for $49.

Since opening in 2007, this Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant has become synonymous with fresh, local ingredients and neighborhood dining. The Market Special cocktail combines Beefeater gin, St. Germain, mango shrub, coconut water, and lime for $17. End with the Mango Tres Leche featuring fresh mango and coconut creme.

WELLNESS WONDERLAND

Pura Vida goes all-in on mango madness with four stellar options that prove healthy eating can taste like paradise. This husband-and-wife-founded wellness empire has been transforming Miami's eating habits since 2012.

The Fresh Fruit Salad layers Greek yogurt with mango, kiwi, pineapple, strawberry, blueberry, banana, raw local honey, and vegan gluten-free granola. Their Bali Crunch acai bowl combines raw acai with banana, mango, cacao nibs, goji berry, and almond butter drizzle. Liquid sunshine comes in two forms: the Welcome to Miami smoothie, featuring passion fruit, mango, and banana, and the Coco Azul, which includes coconut water, banana, pineapple, mango, blue spirulina, collagen protein, hemp seeds, and shaved coconut.

FRENCH FINESSE

Maman's first petite location in Florida brings the beloved French-American cafe experience to Palm Court in the Miami Design District, combining childhood favorites from the south of France and North America. The French-inspired cafe features the Mango Passionfruit Beach Ball, a layered brioche filled with mango passionfruit cream and dusted with powdered sugar for $6. The pastry balances the fruit's natural sweetness with Maman's signature buttery textures. Cool down with their Peach Mango Green Iced Tea for $4, served over ice in a 12-oz or 16-oz size.

PERUVIAN PERFECTION

Atomika inside MIA Market takes a refreshing approach to mango season. The Peruvian concept from chefs Carmen and Javier draws deeply from their heritage to create modern twists on traditional flavors. The duo made a dessert in quintessentially Miami fashion, featuring mangoes sourced from their own yard, Aroa Craft Yogurt sorbet, condensed milk, and a hint of bay leaf. This limited-time dessert showcases their inventive approach to local produce and runs only as long as the backyard mangoes last.

With only a few weeks left in mango season, Design District diners should hurry to savor South Florida's most celebrated fruit across three distinct dining experiences that each bring their own flair to this tropical treasure.
