After a massive run through Milan, Paris, and Rome - where it was extended because demand was so high - From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana is making its US debut right here in the Miami Design District. It opened earlier this month and runs through mid-June at ICA Miami’s newly acquired second site at 23 NE 41st Street.

This is not just rows of mannequins in glass cases. Curated by Florence Müller with set design by Agence Galuchat, the show is a multisensory dive into the minds of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Think of it as looking at a love letter to Italian culture featuring more than 300 pieces pulled from both the archives and new collections. The show tracks how their ideas move from "the heart" (the inspiration) to "the hands" (the actual craft), capturing not just the elegance of the brand, but its humor and irreverence too.

The layout is split into immersive rooms that explore the designers' obsession with their heritage. We are talking about deep dives into opera, ballet, artisan craft, and the spirit of dolce vita. To keep things interesting, the exhibition puts the fashion in dialogue with works by visual artists like Quayola, Alberto Maria Colombo, Obvious, Vittorio Bonapace, and Felice Limosani. It is a clever way to show that these clothes are not just garments -  they are part of a larger conversation about contemporary art.

The exhibition is open daily, with late nights until 10:30 PM on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, which actually makes it a great stop for a pre or post-dinner visit. Tickets start at $30 for adults, and given the reception this show got in Europe, booking in advance is probably a good idea. Tickets can be purchased here.
