When you think Seven Lounge, the year-old bar and lounge in the heart of the Design District, the first thing that pops into your head probably isn’t “breakfast,” but that is quickly changing with the its delicious new Sunday brunch offerings.
The brunch menu launched in April and is offered every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The menu is concise, yet flavorful, with a well thought out selection aimed to please any palate.
“For brunch we were thinking: what could we do our way?” says Executive Chef Nicolas Caiset. “Main thing is we want to serve dishes people would want to come back for.”
The menu is filled with Caiset’s take on brunch classics like Eggs Benedict made with sourdough bread, Serrano ham and topped with a hollandaise filled with saffron and truffle; Steak & Eggs with a Churrasco steak and fried onions; Macadamia Crusted French Toast and a Smoked Salmon Platter with house-smoked salmon, horseradish cream cheese.
The dishes are served in smaller “tapas-style” plates, meant for sharing, which is a perfect fit for the Caiset who spent the past five years in Spain perfecting his cooking skills before taking over the kitchen at Seven Lounge.
While the food offerings are growing in popularity, the bar and lounge will still be an integral part of the brunch with a live DJ playing and drink specials like the Blondie Mary made with yellow tomato juice and gin and bottomless mimosas.
Next up for the Seven? The addition of a Saturday brunch in the next few months and an assortment of larger dishes to round out the menu.
