Red soles. Red nails. And now, red lips. Rouge to be exact. Christian Louboutin, creator of the red bottom shoe, who launched a line of nail colors inspired by the haute-hue, is once again enhancing women’s beauty with the addition of a new collection of lip colors.

Not your average lipstick tube (but now really, did you expect it to be?), Christian Louboutin designed the lip colors as ornate objets d’art making it practically a crime to keep them in a makeup bag. However you won’t be breaking any beauty laws because when you are not applying Rouge Louboutin’s lip-loving formula you can wear it as jewelry.

Inspired
by Babylonian architecture, Rouge Louboutin, the iconic shade in the collection, is encased in a black metal body with a turret-like top of silver and gold with red on the inside and features a small silk black ribbon so that the lip color can be worn as a necklace. It comes packaged in a reusable shiny black lacquer-effect jewelry box with red inside.

There are a total of 38 shades and three different formulas – Silky Satin, Velvet Matte and Sheer Voile – and all shades except Rouge Louboutin come packaged in a gold base, crowned with a gold cap and hang from a gold ribbon. They will be housed in a shiny lacquer-effect box with gold inside. And each individual Louboutin Lip Colour will come in a silk gauze bag.

The Silky Satin formulas impart luxurious color with a sensuous feel; the Velvet Mattes provide a highly pigmented, suede-like finish; and Sheer Voile offers eye-catching color with brilliant shine. All Louboutin Lip Colours are made in the USA, are Paraben-, Mineral Oil-, DEA-, and Phthalate free and feature an exclusive scent.
