Need a little extra energy to fuel your shopping spree? Stop by one of the Miami Design District’s many cafes and bakeries for a stylish cup of joe.

Mercato
Sitting right next to MC Kitchen, Mercato is a casual and artisanal Italian café created by none other than Dena Marino, the brains (and chef!) behind the fabulous MC Kitchen.
When you need your afternoon caffeine fix, stop at this grab-and-go spot for a hot cup of Lavazza coffee. Pair it with a freshly-made croissant, a scone, a piece of Italian bread, artisanal chocolates or an Italian cookie, and let la dolce vita reign.

OTL
This cafe-turned-hangout was the joint project of The Smile NYC, Miami Design District’s Craig Robins, and most surprisingly, nightlife guru David Grutman. The menu is small, but it’s filled with good food that packs a punch. Order the OTL Super Seed Butter Toast with fresh berries, and pair it with a craft coffee. You’ll get your protein AND your caffeine fix all in one sitting.

ella
Another addition to the Michael Schwartz empire, this cafe is especially sweet; it was named after the owner’s own daughter. Open for breakfast, lunch and late-afternoon food and drink, take a hiatus from your shopping spree with a freshly-pulled espresso, Panther Coffee cold brew, a macchiato, a cappuccino or a latte.

Estefan Kitchen Express Cafe
The brainchild of superstar musicians Gloria and Emilio Estefan, who have also opened a slew of Cuban restaurants here in Miami, Estefan Kitchen's Express Cafe is where you can go for your coffee break—but you won’t get your average cup of coffee. For a bit of caffeine befitting this haute Cuban spot, get the Cuban coffee. Trust us: it’ll revive your shopping energy real quick.

Crumb on Parchment
Created by James Beard Award winning chef Michelle Bernstein, this lobby bakery and cafe sits inside the district’s Melin Building. The chocolate chip cookies, pies and cakes (like banana cake frosted in whipped cream, then filled with chocolate ganache) are to-die-for, and that afternoon espresso? Well, that’s just clutch.

Buena Vista Deli
At this charming French bakery and cafe, mix a little business with pleasure. Order a coffee to get that caffeine fix your shopping day needs, and pair it with a sweet treat: like a chocolate croissant, almond cookies, a coffee eclair or a mille feuille.
