The Season of the Bootie: Meet the shoe you’ll wear from now until spring

First came the boot, then the bootie, followed by the shoot/boot hybrid, the shootie. And while the shootie has tapered off, and the boot is almost too hot to wear most of the winter in Miami, it’s the bootie that we turn to time and time again to fulfill our seasonal shoe cravings. This season, the shoe takes on dynamic shapes and colors from the likes of Christian Louboutin, Céline and Marni. Think of it as a way to funk up an outfit, add a little sex appeal and keep your feet shod in the hottest accessory of the season.

If you’re into the hues of the season, chances are you got your dose of fashionable vitamin C this past summer with the orange trend. But don’t think about retiring the sunny pop just yet. The shade is still on par for fall’s trend-cast, too, with the color making powerful pops this pumpkin season. From muted hues to blasts of bright orange, here are just a few of our favorite ways to wear the shade.

French Fascination: FIAC Paris 2013 Preview

In 1974, Art Basel wasn't the only fledgling contemporary art fair to emerge in Europe. Around the same time, the Fair of Contemporary Art was held at the site of the old Bastille in the center of Paris. It was since renamed International Contemporary Art Fair (commonly referred to as FIAC) and was moved into its current abode at the Grand Palais. It wasn't until 1976 that FIAC was considered a groundbreaking contemporary art fair, as it began to attract American galleries. Photography was introduced as a medium for the fair in 1982, with a dedicated exhibition space at the fairgrounds. The so-called 'video cube' was unveiled in 2001, highlighting young artists specializing in new media.
