Gavin Perry’s solo exhibition titled History Lesson-Part 2 comprises new sculpture and painting works, executed in his signature layering of pigmented resin. Perry explains, "This layering implicates the passage of time as a fundamental part of both production and meaning. Like an archeological site, each strata in my works acts as a log of a former state. At the same, each new layer also partially obscures previous layers and the overall “history” of the work, not by completely hiding what has come before but by blurring or veiling it.”  A celebrated Miami artist with a studio based in Allappatah, Gavin Perry is represented by Barbara Davis Gallery in Houston, Texas and Sultana Galerie in Paris France and Primary Projects in Miami.
