Pritzker Prize-winning, Iraqi and British architect and artist Zaha Hadid’s site-specific installation Elastika was designed to both complement and contradict the architecture of The Moore, a landmark of the Design District since 1921. The piece was commissioned by Dacra president Craig Robins in 2005 for the inaugural Design Miami/. Exploring ideas of connectivity and fluidity, the installation sprawls the length of the four-level central atrium and serves as a visual anchor of the entire building. Today, The Moore’s celebrates the landmark work of art by naming their public-facing restaurant after Elastika.
