The New York-based restaurant group behind the South Beach Italian-American restaurant with a two-month-long waiting list, Carbone, has debuted ZZ’s Club, a Japanese restaurant in the Design District with an optional invite-only membership. The Major Food Group created a cult following before relocating from New York City to run the new Miami restaurant. ZZ’s Club remakes the space into a high-end Japanese restaurant with a private 16-seat omakase chef’s choice sushi bar, two indoor dining rooms, and a sports bar, with ingredients flown in from Tokyo. The two indoor dining rooms and courtyard serve modern Japanese cuisine with an a la carte menu, from raw dishes to cooked plates of premium Japanese beef on custom-built charcoal grills.
About ZZ’s
ZZ’s Club is a private membership club from Major Food Group that features interior design from the renowned Ken Fulk and offers its exclusive community the pinnacle of luxury, a personalized style of hospitality, and the highest caliber of cuisine. The first ZZ’s Club debuted in 2021 in the heart of the Miami Design District and has since expanded since. Amenities include a modern Japanese restaurant, a cigar terrace, a sports bar, two in-door dining rooms, courtyard and a glamorous lounge. ZZ’s Club in New York opened in November 2023. Among its numerous coveted spaces is the world’s first and only private location of CARBONE.
The story of ZZ’s Club can be traced to ZZ’s Clam Bar, the jewel-box destination for seafood and cocktails in New York City’s Greenwich Village, just down the block from the original location of CARBONE. "ZZ" is Major Food Group Co-Owner Jeff Zalaznick’s nickname.
