SoFlaNights.comFriday, October 12, 7:30pm-10:30pm – The Moore Building, 191 NE 40th Street, Miami Design District
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Miami Design District hosted the Third Annual Fashion Fights Cancer event at at The Moore Building, honoring celebrity fashion stylist, breast cancer survivor and activist, Ann Caruso. The ticketed event had a spectacular turnout, which generated over $9,000 in donations for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Fashion visionary and breast cancer survivor Angeles Alumna launched this event three years ago to commemorate her battle with cancer and was extremely grateful for this year’s event outcome. Both Angeles and Ann gave speeches thanking all the people who made the event possible and those who were deeply involved in their survivor’s journey.
The event benefited the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the highest rated breast cancer organization in the US, whose mission is dedicated to ending breast cancer by funding investigators who have been deeply involved in every major breakthrough in breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship. Guests enjoyed sounds by DJ Michelle Leshem and Alma Dance Theater performed a poignant and stunning excerpt of their award-winning “Flowers” repertoire, created by Marissa Alma Nick with an original score by Hope Littwin. The event would not have been possible without partners Shiraz, Shutterbox, Ananda & Co., Cloud Chaser Rose, Lavish Rentals, FPS Productions and Estefan’s Kitchen.
