Artist Trenton Doyle Hancock talks about his Miami art installation “I Made a Mound City in Miami Dade County,” on view at Locust Projects in The Miami Design District through February 8th, 2020.
Trenton Doyle Hancock, who is based in Houston, uses different mediums and forms – including print, painting, drawing, sculpture and everything in between – to build imaginative stories. These stories star characters invented by Hanckock and explore themes such as class, race, and epic battles between good and evil. It’s all part of the artist’s mythology called the “Moundverse.”
The interactive Miami art installation features the artist’s recurring alter-ego, a hero called Torpedo Boy, and large, furry creatures called Mounds, who are continuing their adventures... this time in Miami.
Locust Projects is an alternative nonprofit art space located at 3852 N Miami Avenue.
