If you’re looking for an authentic Roman dining experience, all roads point to Mother Wolf, the dramatic and extraordinary restaurant located right here in Miami’s Design District. Led by Chef Evan Funke, of Netflix’s Chef’s Table, Mother Wolf is at once a visual and culinary feast that is both intimate and extravagant. It’s a place of cohesive contradictions that is experiential, delicious, and welcoming. Watch your pasta made fresh as you unwind in luxe red leather banquette seating, notice the dramatic fountain wall as you make your way to enjoy casual pizza and zucchini blossoms. Mother Wolf is as approachable as it is opulent, and that’s on purpose.

Funke, a two-time James Beard winner, has created a menu that treats guests to a culinary journey to Italy, offering traditional Roman with a blend of ingredients and flavors from nearby Italian provinces. Expect classics like burrata, focaccia, meatballs, an assortment of pizzas, a dozen pasta dishes, seafood, and meat. Local farmers are also woven into Mother Wolf’s culinary story, blending seasonal ingredients alongside Italian olives, cheese, salumi, and flour.

Design is intentional at Mother Wolf, and of course, the aesthetic influence of choice is Italian.  It’s Eternal City food meets Magic City energy. Authentic terrazzo exists alongside Murano glass, and damask wallpaper complements the previously mentioned velvet seating. Stunning Turkish marbles point towards the open kitchen. London-based Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and interior stylist Bernadette Blanc have created an environment that is magical and transportive. Ten Five Hospitality leads the restaurant’s operations.

And, what’s in a name? Mother Wolf is a nod to Rome's mythological origin story of twins Romulus and Remus who grew up raised by a she-wolf, the Lupa Capitolina, and later went on to found the city of Rome. On the signage, Mother Wolf is followed by the Latin acronym “SPQR,” which is short for “Senatus Populusque Romanus” and refers to the governing body of the Roman Republic and its inhabitants. Translation: Mother Wolf is a place for everyone.

The Miami Design District location marks the third Mother Wolf location nationwide, joining venues in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Mother Wolf is located on the corner of 39th Street and 2nd Avenue.
