Summer in Miami means finding the perfect balance between keeping kids entertained and staying cool. The Miami Design District delivers on both fronts with indoor attractions, family-friendly dining, and interactive experiences that make hot days enjoyable for the whole family.
FOR ACTIVE PLAY
Museum Garage turns parking into play with a tunnel slide, pink stairs leading to rooftop views, and net structures perfect for climbing. The seven-story structure features colorful façades designed by international architects, making functional space feel like interactive art for curious kids.
And it’s hard to miss Portugal-based artist Dozie Kanu’s large-scale climbing frames throughout the District with his Support System installation. Made from rebar and automotive equipment coated in sparkling candy paint, these structures provide endless entertainment for active kids while parents stroll the walkable neighborhood.

FOR INDOOR ACTIVITIES
State of Kid offers relief from summer heat with classes like Beginner's Ballet, Crafty Critters, Miss Nancy's Petit Chefs, and Tumbling Tots for children up to age eight. The modern space combines enrichment programming with curated retail, letting parents browse stylish children's clothing while kids burn energy in air-conditioned comfort.
Kids Atelier features premium children's clothing from Givenchy, Balmain, Fendi, and Monnalisa. The sleek boutique provides an ideal indoor browsing destination where little ones can try on mini-sized runway looks while escaping the summer heat.
ICA Miami offers families two ways to engage with contemporary art through Kittenberger, the museum's digital “Cat-in-Residence." Family Sundays feature free one-hour workshops every Sunday at 11:30 a.m., offering activities such as Musical Movement, Musical Storytelling, and Art Making sessions for children of all abilities. Children ages 3-8 can also explore Kittenberger’s Adventure. This free, interactive 3D game takes them on an art-filled journey through the Miami Design District to learn about public art and creativity. Reserved tickets for workshops are available until 11:45 am on program days.

FOR FAMILY DINING
Pura Vida Miami makes healthy eating easy with their Little Lunch Boxes featuring Turkey and Cheese Sandwich, Tiny Toasted Chicken, and The Little Bowl, all served with cold-pressed juice and mandarin oranges. The bright, air-conditioned space offers a refreshing respite from the heat, allowing parents to enjoy their own wellness-focused menu.
Sadelle's at Kith serves up crowd-pleasers like their world-famous French Toast, Sadelle's pancakes, and triple-decker sandwiches. This Major Food Group spot creates a fun atmosphere with kid-friendly options that make it perfect for families looking to treat themselves during summer break.

Summer in the Miami Design District means families can enjoy world-class dining, interactive art, and creative play spaces while staying cool and comfortable. Whether you're looking for a quick, healthy meal or a full day of exploration, the District has everything needed for memorable summer days with kids.
