The cultural scene in South Florida is continuing to evolve and Miami is proving to be the hub for international art and design events that travel to America. This May, MAISON&OBJET AMERICAS, the design and lifestyle show that travels the world to bring together designers, architects, property developers, and other cultural influencers, returns to our city and the Miami District is the spot to experience one-of-a-kind installations, exhibitions and soirees. We’ve highlighted a few of the exhibits happening in the neighborhood.  The full program guide is available here

Known for their exquisite leathers, LOEWE continues to discover new ways to expand its craftsmanship and technology, which is seen in this special showcase launching during M&O. LOEWE director, Jonathan Anderson, highlights the ancient technique of marquetry in which inlays of different materials like leather are used to embellish furniture.  On display will be oak furniture featuring intricate designs made from various pieces of leather in differing shapes and sizes giving it a three-dimensional look. Other objects on display that will feature this mosaic-like pattern created out of leather pieces include lamps, wardrobes, cigar boxes, notebooks and leather pouches, some of which will be available for purchase until July.
