Whether you’re looking to mix-up your usual date night routine, or trying to impress a new love, there are tons of great ideas for fun ways to keep things fresh. With a variety of activities and different types or experiences, date night #atMDD offers tons of options.

Nite Owl Theater + Premium Wine and Spirit Infused Ice Cream from Aubi & Ramsa +21 Ice Cream Store

Dinner-and-a-movie gets a makeover. Instead of heading to the boring multiplex, take in a classic film at Nite Owl Theater for a truly one-of-a-kind experience. Every week, Thursday through Sunday, Nite Owl screens a flick from a vast list of cult classic films, the way it’s meant to be seen: on 35mm film, splashed on the big screen.

After the movie, chat plot points over a premium wine and spirit-infused ice cream from the new Aubi & Ramsa +21 Ice Cream Store. Scotch drinkers will love The Highland Truffle single malt ice cream, made with The Macallan 12-Yr whiskey. More of a champagne lover? The Tangerine Mimosa champagne sorbet is infused with Moet & Chandon Imperial Brut.

Nite Owl Theater is located upstairs in the Melin Building and screens films Thursday through Sunday. Check its website for showtimes.

Explore the Food Trucks

Feeling adventurous? Grab your date and hit the food trucks. Roam around sampling bites of all different types of cuisine from each vendor. Available every last Thursday of the month for lunch  from noon to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. Nibble on Latin and dihes like NY style gyros, burgers, decadent grilled cheese and handcrafted gelato bars.

Pop-Up Concert  + Happy Hour at Estefan Kitchen

Take in a live musical performance as part of the Miami Design District Performance Series Presented by Knight Foundation during its weekly Friday night ensemble of live musical performances. The free music series is open to the public and presented by Emilio Estefan and Eduardo Martuert of the Miami Symphony Orchestra. Start the evening with a drink during Estefan Kitchen’s happy hour specials, which are the perfect complement to the sweet tunes. The pop-up concert series runs every Friday night starting at 6:30pm, with happy hour specials at Estefan Kitchen beginning at 5pm.

Cold Brews at Blue Bottle Coffee + Art Tour

Make it a day date and meet for one of the District’s free guided art tours, led by art critic, journalist and educator Margery Gordon. During the first Saturday of the month, the tour takes in selections of public artworks including signature faves as well as new additions to the neighborhood. After taking in the pieces, chat about the works you spotted over Blue Bottle Coffee’s New Orleans Iced Coffees, or any of their unique brews. (Or, you know, one of Blue Bottle’s zero proof coffee cocktail, we won’t tell.)

Prefer a night date? Drop by on the third Wednesday of the month for a unique evening tour, including visits to the new Paradise Plaza framing Bus Stop. All tours begin at Fly’s Eye Dome in the Palm Court.

Day tours run the first Saturday of the month at 2:30 p.m. and the last Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Check website for details.

Yoga at Ahana Yoga Studio + Couples Massage at Emena Spa

Channel your inner yogi and swing by Ahana Yoga Studio for a sweat session with your love. Classes are available at all levels and everyone is welcome. After your session, drop by Emena Spa to continue developing your bond with their Agapi massage ritual, a couples massage package available in 50 or 80 mins.

Wine Tasting at Abaco Wines + Wine Bar

Schedule a private wine tasting with Abaco’s knowledgeable sommeliers. Learn about all the different varietals and the difference between Old World and New World vinos while sampling some of the most unique wines in the world. Order up a tasty charcuterie board and compare notes on your fave vintages for a fun afternoon.
