Good things come in threes, so it is no surprise that Loewe’s third Paula’s Ibiza collection is the must-have of the summer. Whether your summer plans have you destined for a new stamp in your passport or if you’ll be stay-cationing instead, the new collection will transport you to a far away island with its iconic archival print designs reminiscent of Ibiza’s carefree vibrancy.
Loewe Creative Director Jonathan Anderson creates effortless summer looks by combining Paula’s archived prints with new designs in organic textures, natural fibers like linen and woven sisal as well as cotton linen blends, terry toweling and crinkled jersey in soft rainbow hues and sun-washed colors.
The casual collection of mix and match separates are the types of pieces you don’t have to think twice about. Just slip them on and you are on your way to looking effortlessly chic in styles like balloon-sleeve maxi dresses, full floating skirts as well as hoodies and beach shorts. The pieces feature new graphic elements and prints along with intricate and fun details like fringe, scalloped crochet, tassels and wooden bead latticework all of which have a laid-back island vibe. Making a splash on many of the pieces is Paula’s iconic cursive logo seen on tank dresses t-shirts, bags and summer footwear staple, espadrilles.
The collection is full of a combination of soft hues - lavender, dusty rose, ivory – as well as brighter prints that juxtapose yellow, white and blue with black and red. No matter the print’s palette, Spanish-tinged summer references from sea snakes, grapes and flowery footprints to Balearic masks, fiery suns and Spanish mantilla combs and flamenco fans are seen throughout.
Not limited to clothing for women and men, the Ibiza collection also features accessories from swimwear, hats, beach towels and blankets to the new Cushion Bag, which is inspired by Loewe's home-decor cushions. The spacious shoulder bag's construction is left deliberately visible both on the inside and out, and its silhouette has bended sides and knotted leather straps at the edges. Also new for summer, the Bumbag, which is available in a number of bright prints, is a hands-free option that can be worn around the waist/hips or crossbody, perfect for summer day outings that go straight into memorable summer nights.
