We love the way they say “pahk the car,” their lobster dinners, chowder and getaways to Cape Cod.
So when Bostonians need a helping hand, we’re ready to give them one. Join the Design District this Thursday, June 6 from 7-11 p.m. for Miami Design District Loves Boston. The Empowerment Not Fear Bash, to be held at the Moore Building, will raise funds for victims of the Boston Marathon tragedy, with proceeds benefitting The Boston One Fund, a charity inspired by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino to help those injured on Marathon Monday. To get the party started, the Design District will provide drinks, bites, art, a silent auction, a beauty bar, and DJ-spun tunes. In the glass: Concoctions by mixologists from The Regent Cocktail Club, Dolce, Hakkasan, PB Steak and The Cypress Room. On the plate: Specialties from Shiraz Events, as well as Egg & Dart. On the speakers: beats by Miami Dolphins DJ Supersede and DJ Brendan O’Hara. On the walls: Art by Alexander Mijares and Marcello Ibanez (the Standard Spa, Miami Beach’s talented chalkboard artist), which will also be up for grabs to the highest bidder of the silent auction. Other great prizes include gym memberships and sessions with celebrity trainers, gift boxes from LVMH, stays at the Shore Club and the W Hotel and more. In between drinks, stop in at the beauty bar for braids by Emena Spa.
Tickets for this charity event are $40 in advance on giltcity.com or $55 at the door. As our Boston friends would say, this pahty is going to be wicked awesome.
