On display at NIBA Home will be the Heroes Tour 2016 by Doug Meyer, which is made up of 50 revealing portraits of creative icons who were some of the first victims of AIDS. Knowledge of their existence and contributions has largely been lost to younger generations. These Heroes hail from the worlds of art, design, film and dance — with a heavy contribution from interior design. The portraits are richly documented with historical information and achievements of each Hero, and all refer to the stylized forms of medallions, cameos, intaglios, sculpted busts and are embellished with drawing, painting, collage and sculptural elements.
