Although South Beach is in its name, The Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival Presented by Capital One has embraced all the amazing neighborhoods that make Miami and South Florida so special. In fact, the Miami Design District has played host to multiple SOBEWFF events throughout the years. Check out what they have in store for the 21st edition of SOBEWFF (February 24-27, 2022).

SOBEWFF

Kicking off the Festival on Thursday, February 24 is “Steak and Whiskey,” a carnivore’s delight hosted by chef Michael Symon. The walk-around event will take over the Design District’s Jungle Plaza with 20 stations helmed by chefs from all over the country showcasing their steak skills. Guests will savor an endless selection of thick, tender Grade A meats at this sumptuous soiree under the stars.

Probably the most anticipated dinner of the entire Festival will be held on Friday, February 25, when Design District visionary Chef Michael Schwartz celebrates the 15th anniversary of his eponymous Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink. To mark the occasion, Schwartz will be joined by fellow chefs Dillion Wolff and Michael Symon. Together, they’ll curate a boldly flavored, multi-course menu that will highlight MGFD’s signature dishes.

Also on Friday night, chef and Food Network star Anne Burrell is hosting “A Taste of Italy.” The Italian-themed dinner party will take place in the Design District’s Jungle Plaza, and will feature 20 stations from Italy’s most delicious regions, including Piedmont, Tuscany, Sardinia, Sicily and Campania. The bites will be paired with fine Italian wines for an incredible culinary experience. Tickets are $175 per person.

Although it’s sold out, the Saturday brunch at Cote is expected to be foodie central. Emmy and four-time James Beard Award-winning chef and TV personality Andrew Zimmern will turn up the heat to create a fiery, interactive dining experience that showcases dry-aged meats of the highest quality (prepared on Cote’s smokeless state-of-the-art tabletop grills), with richly flavored side dishes to match. Zimmern will be joined by Cote’s Executive Chef David Shim for the Korean barbecue brunch.

There’s another brunch on Saturday, but this one has a celebrity angle. Chef Pharoah Williams, famous for his Sweet + Spicy Nono sauce, will curate an over-the-top brunch menu alongside his son – and GRAMMY® Award-winning artist and producer – Pharrell. The menu will bring a down-home twist to the freshly-sourced and globally influenced menu at Swan, the chic dining destination in the heart of the Design District owned by Pharrell & David Grutman.

For cocktail lovers, Saturday’s late-night party has a decidedly Miami theme. Called “Make It Miami: A 305-Inspired Tapas and Craft Cocktail Party,” this nocturnal experience will feature 15 extraordinary Miami-based chefs preparing an array of sweet and savory dishes inspired by the city’s melting pot of flavors: croquetas, cachapas, pastelitos, mofongo, Jamaican patties…and more! Two of Miami’s most vibrant personalities – James Beard Award-winning chef Michelle “Michy” Bernstein and mixologist Gio Gutierrez (aka @ChatChowTV) – will host this wildly fun and festive love letter to Miami’s tantalizing tapestry of flavors. The festivities will start at 10 pm at the Jungle Plaza.
