This fall, runways from Paris to Milan became classrooms. Designers couldn’t resist the pull of school uniforms, varsity stripes, and plaid, but they gave them the kind of polish that makes you want to play hooky.

Thom Browne Rules the Fantasy Campus

Varsity jackets stamped with collegiate numbers, gray flannel pleats that bent the rules of proportion, and oversized argyle knits all appeared beneath a ceiling of origami birds. Thom Browne didn’t just nod to prep, the classroom turned into a stage, and Browne ran the show.

Louis Vuitton Goes to Homeroom

Black velvet mini dresses tied with bright red bows felt like rebellion disguised as uniform. Paired with ribbed knee socks and structured satchels, Nicolas Ghesquière’s creative designs belonged in the spotlight, not the library. Oversized scarves and razor-sharp jackets layered on top sealed the academic feel.

Dior Men Hits the Quad

Sweater vests over crisp button-downs took Ivy League staples and sent them straight to Paris. Rich navy and burgundy spoke to tradition while shouting new energy across striped baseball motifs and tailored shorts. Sneakers and monogram backpacks added the rush of campus life, but delivered with the calm authority of someone who never has to sprint to class.

Burberry Gets Scholastic in Equestrian Chic

For fall 2025, Daniel Lee turned his runway into a modern boarding school’s weekend wardrobe. Velvet brocade suits, fringed sweater-dresses, embroidered trenches, and embossed leather outerwear turned prep looks into style statements. Riding boots, quilted layers, and tailoring pushed the look beyond academic nostalgia.

Chanel’s Tweed Recess

Fall 2025 line was a reminder that Chanel has always owned the school-uniform look. Tweed skirt suits, beautiful bows, and pearls gave the collection a sense of quiet demeanor, but Viard softened it with subtle ease. The result: a wardrobe that’s polished enough for the classroom or a fashionable outing but still rooted in everyday charm.

This fall, back-to-school dressing has never looked sharper. From Vuitton’s velvet rebellion to Browne’s fantasy campus, the Miami Design District carries the spirit of the season.
