As we knock on spring’s door, it’s time to start thinking about working the season’s hair and beauty trends into our beauty routines. Here’s a look at the top trends to come off the Spring 2014 runways and how to wear them well.

spring, style, cat eyes, short hair

Colorful Cat Eyes
The eyes have it for spring. Marc Jacobs’ show proved the cat eye still has nine lives, showing the look in bold colors, think teal, extending beyond the inner and outer corners. The style was also done up in royal blue to bring a different dimension to the trend. Blue wasn’t just limited to cat eyes, though. The shade went from lid to brow bone (a la the ‘50s) at Badgley Mischka. With blue on the eyes, be sure to pair with a neutral or nude lip.

spring, style, tendrils

Tumbling Tendrils
Lose, messy worn-in hair rounded out the looks at Michael Kors. When it comes to updos this upcoming season, be sure to come undone. Wispy locks framing the face are the new hot hair trend. Diane von Furstenberg also played up played-down locks with undone curls and waves. Pair this look with natural makeup for an ethereal feel.

spring style, deep part

In Deep
Parting isn’t such sweet sorrow when it’s a deep side part. The trend took over the runways at Reed Krakoff with parts pushing their limits in sleek ponytails. Wear this look with a big eye or bold lip.

spring, style, lip stick, orange

Orange You Glad
Corals and oranges are the go-to lip shades for spring, as seen at DKNY. Think of this lip hue as your fall red alternative. The bright shade wakes up the face, giving it an instant pop of glow. Prabal Gurung and Rag & Bone also got in on the orange action on their catwalks. When paired with a natural eye, the lip becomes the look’s statement.
