For fashion designers, their collections are pieces of art. For Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection, this couldn’t be more true. Drawing inspiration from the late London designer and artist Christopher Nementh, Kim Jones, the Men’s Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton, incorporated Nementh’s artistic designs throughout the collection, honoring the man who Jones calls the “most important designer to come out of London alongside Vivienne Westwood.”
This year marks the fifth anniversary of Nementh’s passing and Jones wanted to celebrate his life this season. While hints of Nementh-inspired pieces have been seen in previous collections, this is the first that truly pays homage to him. Most notably in the rope print that seen in different sizes and colors across the collection from clothing to shoes and bags to watches.
While Miami’s version of Fall is unlike the rest of the country’s, meaning it’s still 90 degrees outside, the Louis Vuitton Fall collection can seamlessly be incorporated into one’s wardrobe. For the gentlemen who work in a tie-required environment, there is a selection to choose from in varying shades of grey. For a more causal setting, the collarless button down with rope pattern pocket is our top pick. Another sure-to-be staple, the slip on shoe that is available in three different colors and rope prints, our favorite is the silver pair that perfectly marries the iconic Louis Vuitton Damier print with an interpretation of Nementh’s ropes. Complete the look with a pair of sunglasses with rope-patterned temples.
