Matching your shoes to your bag? That’s so last decade. Complementing your outfit with equally stylish makeup? It’s what’s in, according to British label Burberry, which just recently debuted a limited-edition eye shadow palette inspired by prints featured in the Burberry Prorsum Fall/Winter 2015 “Patchwork, Patterns & Prints” runway collection. Revealed at London’s Fashion Week, the collection juxtaposed the label’s definitive check with an array of prints, including boho florals, paisleys and edgier animal and camouflage designs.
The palette takes a cue from said eclectic mix, reinterpreting the styles and fabrics as three trendy yet classic hues: khaki green, nude and black. Together the modern shades work to create a cool, smokey eye effect, says Burberry’s artistic consultant Wendy Rowe. While inspired by the brand’s British heritage and outdoor roots, Burberry’s eye shadow palette is anything but rugged thanks to its silky formula that glides across the lids for a soft, velvety finish. The result is a quintessentially British look that’s at once polished and natural.
